An ident is a short animation used to identify a channel. Also the purpose of an ident is to grab viewers attention and boost the brand logo's popularity. Usually the ident symbolises the channels content like what shows to expect on them and what age groups they are aimed at by the use of certain objects, shapes, colors and environments.
Most of these idents have three things in common:
1.They always include their Logo
2.They have sound but not to much
3.They sometimes have someone announcing the next program
For example
This ident uses Homer from the Simpsons to promote their logo as the Simpsons were a very popular Tv program on the channel at that time. Also a voice over is added at the end to announce the next show which was The Simpsons.
